MPI Exeter - Machine Operator Valve

About the role

The Machine Operator for the Valve Department at MPIE in Exeter, CA is responsible for maintaining valve inventory, processing valve orders, operating test machines, forklifts, cranes, and packaging equipment, and performing in-person valve tests with customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain valve inventory and process valve orders for shipment
• Make changes and adjustments to valves as needed
• Operate forklift to move valves inside/outside the plant
• Rework valves to meet customer requirements
• Manage inventory locations and product packaging
• Paint and package finished product
• Operate valve test machines
• Operate packaging equipment
• Perform in-person valve tests with customers

Requirements

• Proactive promotion of the McWane Way principles
• Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Waterman Safety Management Program
• Identify requirements for each valve order
• Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area
• Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude
• Ability to understand machinery processes
• Basic math skills, reading a tape measure and micrometer
• Good communication skills
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of industrial tools and their maintenance
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Safety oriented for self and others
• Willingness to work in a team environment
