MPI Machine Operator I

About the role

The McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI) division is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join their Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring personal and team safety
• Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• Using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Cleaning assigned work area and maintaining a clean work environment
• Adhering to the McWane Way principles
• Following Clear Water Safety Management Program processes and procedures
• Identifying fabrication requirements for each piece of pipe
• Placing pipe in machine, centering it, tightening, and machining tapered threads into the pipe
• Testing flange fit after machining and applying glue to pipe and flange
• Operating machines and crane to move pipe between machining centers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience with machinery
• Proactive promotion of McWane Way principles
• Ability to read and use a tape measure and micrometer
• Good with math and understanding machinery processes
• Consistent attendance and punctuality
• Team player willing to assist with various machines
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm

Work Environment

• Standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Regular lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds
• Working in dusty and noisy environments
• Operating a forklift and obtaining certification
• Knowledge of industrial tools and their maintenance
• Specific vision abilities including close, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
