About the role
The Bancroft School is seeking 11 Paraprofessionals to join our dynamic team. Shifts available are 700 AM - 300 PM and 800 AM - 300 PM.
Responsibilities
- Support students with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges in reaching their full potential.
- Provide encouragement, structure, and compassionate support to help students feel safe, valued, and successful.
- Work alongside a passionate, multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and specialists dedicated to student success.
- Help students build skills that support lifelong independence and community inclusion.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct support experience, preferably within an educational or classroom-based setting.
- Must have a current, non-provisional, non-probationary driver’s license in good standing.
Qualifications
- Paraprofessionals: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Teacher Assistants: Associate degree in a related field or 60 college credits required. NJDOE substitute teacher’s certification required.
- Special Education Teachers: Bachelor’s degree, CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ K-6 or K-8" or "NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)" or "Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)".
