Responsibilities
- Use computerized diagnostic tools and visual inspections to identify mechanical problems in vehicles, including engine performance, electrical systems, and other critical components
- Repair or replace faulty parts and systems, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and engine tune-ups
- Communicate with customers to explain repairs, provide estimates, and advise on maintenance procedures, including updates on new technologies and repair techniques
- Perform safety inspections mandated by state regulations to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and services for vehicle history tracking and regulatory compliance
- Train and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices to enhance team competency
- Perform all management and administrative functions for maintaining special/general purpose vehicle fleets, weapon systems, organizational equipment, shop equipment, and vehicle maintenance buildings
- Provide services dedicated to ensuring a safe and serviceable vehicle fleet critical to the success of the Silver Flag Exercise training site
- Ensure quality work performance in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines
Requirements
- Three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
- Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC)
- Current ASE Certification
- Valid Driver's License
- Class A Commercial Driver's License
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
Preferred Qualifications
- US Air Force experience in Vehicle Fleet Management at USAF Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) or Redhorse Training
