About the role

We're seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Reed City, Michigan. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, dependable, and ready for service.

Responsibilities

  • Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Conducting safety inspections and routine service
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Managing parts and maintenance inventory
  • Installing and maintaining mobile communications equipment
  • Maintaining hydraulic systems and aerial lift devices
  • Supporting DOT inspections and fleet maintenance programs
  • Working with vendors and suppliers when specialty repairs are needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Auto Mechanics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an automotive or heavy-duty truck repair facility
  • Valid Michigan driver's license, including a CDL-A with air brake endorsement
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain and maintain)
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA and Cooperative safety standards
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly (up to 100 pounds occasionally) and perform physical work around vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Flexibility to work overtime, respond to emergencies, and travel as needed
