Mortgage Underwriter
Primary Responsibilities
- Takes responsibility for the daily underwriting processes for our Conventional, FHA and VA loans.
- Submits loans through an automated underwriting system for a decision.
- Approves or pends loans; presents appropriate loans daily to loan committee.
- Affords assistance to branches with underwriting questions, scenarios, and problems.
- Maintains 24 - 48 hour underwriting turnaround for new loans and re-submissions.
- Operates office equipment and maintains loan filing system.
Qualifications
- An approved FHA, DE (Direct Endorsed) Underwriter, preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience underwriting loans.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate and problem solve with other mortgage partners.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
