About the Role
This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining loss prevention controls, developing and implementing policy and procedures, monitoring compliance, ensuring data integrity, and keeping productivity and quality control on target for multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Area #1 (50%)
- Assists Department Manager in managing all aspects of mortgage operations, mortgage servicing, and trade operations functions, including loan boarding, payment processing, maintaining accounts, adjustable-rate management, post-closing processing, insurance, and tax monitoring.
- Compiles procedure and job aid creation/revision processes in collaboration with staff, Management, Subject Matter Experts, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management.
- Ensures consumer and mortgage loan servicing policies and procedures best serve the Bank and its customers.
- Provides service, support, and training within the Department and other related departments.
- Area #2 (30%)
- Coordinates all internal and external audits, including compliance reviews, working with department managers to successfully pass audits.
- Tracks to completion all remediation tasks to ensure processes are followed and proper controls are in place.
- Area #3 (20%)
- Researches and resolves accounting/collateral inquiries (e.g., interest accrual/adjustments, amortization schedules, rate indexes, other monetary transactions).
- Provides advice, counseling, and solutions through staff related to customer servicing inquiries and consumer complaints.
- Researches and maintains accurate statistical records of department activity and relevant information.
- Reviews various system-generated reports and ensures accuracy of loan system accounting and maintenance.
- Creates ad hoc reports to ensure efficient monitoring/verification of loan data.
- Other Responsibilities
- Successfully completes all mandatory training on related Bank and BSA compliance, as well as other laws and regulations as assigned.
- Performs all assigned duties under the Bank’s compliance programs and related laws & regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 10+ years of mortgage loan servicing or mortgage banking experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage loan servicing and loan products.
- Solid retail banking knowledge and experience, including strong familiarity with regulatory compliances and practices, including CRA compliance.
- Strong writing, drafting, and editing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software.
- Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional lines of business and organizational levels.
Physical Demands
- Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged periods; operate office equipment, including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to walk, stand, and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less.
Communication Demands
- Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
Work Environment
- Standard office environment with average noise levels.
- Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Schedule
Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days onsite in the Rowland Heights office. This is not a remote position.
Pay
The base pay range for this position is USD $85,000.00/year – USD $115,000.00/year plus full benefits. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
