About the role

The Mortgage Servicing Specialist I at USF Federal Credit Union is responsible for conducting essential functions of mortgage servicing. This position must effectively demonstrate the core values of the Credit Union.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily Mortgage Close-out (Processes and Reconcile Daily Settlements): Batch payments, reconcile payment exceptions, clear payoffs escrow disbursements.
  • Create afternoon ACH file and process daily insurance premiums.
  • Process and complete general mortgage servicing functions, such as mortgage payments/reversals, mortgage loan onboarding, mortgage payoff quotes/requests, manual insurance and tax disbursements, Mortgage Verification, and Satisfaction of Mortgage, insurance claims, adding or removal of escrow (insurance and tax payments).
  • Performs scheduled weekly/monthly servicing functions, such as: Late notices, Credit Reporting, Upload Payee Insurance Code file for vendor, Address payment exceptions (unapplied balances and loans paid ahead), PMI batch posting and PMI Cancellations.
  • Maintains department email/fax, tickets, and online messages.
  • Takes continuing education classes, training for personal/career development and required Credit Union courses.
  • Participates in department huddles, meetings, projects, engagement activities, and community service.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior experience in a similar or related field (1-3 years)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: AA Degree or higher in Business, or related field
