Mortgage Sales Team Leader

About the role

As a Mortgage Sales Team Lead, you will ensure the assigned territory achieves all goals, including meeting or exceeding loan production targets, loan growth, and quality control. This position provides leadership and direction for all Mortgage Loan Originators in the territory while implementing the company’s overall goals, strategies, philosophies, and culture.

Responsibilities

• Drive production, growth, and team performance within an assigned territory.
• Recruit and develop high-performing Mortgage Loan Originators and Assistants.
• Execute strategic market and individual business plans to achieve sales goals.
• Cultivate and maintain strong referral relationships.
• Actively manage the mortgage pipeline.
• Provide consistent coaching through regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
• Ensure team members are equipped with knowledge of products, systems, and processes.
• Maintain strict adherence to bank policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
• Develop and identify new business opportunities for the bank.
• Remain actively involved in the community.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of mortgage banking experience.
• 2 years of previous management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Active NMLS registration under the terms of the SAFE Act is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and grasp information quickly.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Leadership skills, including leading and developing others, motivating and coaching, decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
