Mortgage Loan Officer - Tampa Bay

Responsibilities

• Builds relationships with external referral sources such as realtors, builders, and attorneys.
• Assists applicants with real estate lending needs; obtains conventional, construction to perm, FHA, VA and investor type mortgage loans, home equity loans or lines of credit.
• Analyzes loan data on applications to ensure they meet all requirements including GFFCU and secondary market guidelines as well as CFPB/TRID guidelines.
• Maintains effective communication with applicants to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing the closing of the mortgage.
• Inputs and validates data in the system and collects and evaluates all required information and documentation.
• Reviews Automated Underwriting system conditions to ensure the loan meets eligibility and underwriting guidelines.
• Aids Processors and Underwriters to ensure a timely closing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Two years of mortgage loan origination experience is required.
• Ability to make sales presentations and develop sales production from internal and external sources.
• Proficient math skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
• Proficient PC skills, including mortgage software, with the ability to learn new software.
• Ability to work within time constraints and under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of loan documentation requirements and mortgage lending regulations.

Compensation

$60,000 base & commission. This position will cover Pinellas, Hillsborough and/or Pasco Counties.

Physical Demands

• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.
• Sedentary role; Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Use of computer requires repetitive key strokes.

Work Environment

• This role is fully remote, with the option to work from our HQ or retail locations.
• Travel to Grow Stores (branches) and locations for networking and community participation required.
