Mortgage Loan Officer

About the role

Solicits first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers. Works with customers to identify and secure a mortgage loan tailored to their financial circumstances and goals, including home ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develops and expands referral sources to solicit first mortgages.
• Maintains regular contact with Realtors and attends builder job sites to discuss lending options.
• Participates in building and trade shows to forge new relationships.
• Collects and analyzes applicant's financial information to assess loan eligibility.
• Interviews applicants and provides necessary information, including income, assets, investments, debt, credit history, and property details.
• Evaluates customer needs and recommends financial products that best meet their specific needs.
• Conducts persuasive sales activities to encourage potential customers to do business with the company and cross-promotes other services and financial products to referral sources.
• Engages in customer-specific persuasive sales activities to encourage potential customers to do business with the company and cross-promotes other services and financial products to outside referral sources.
• Performs work related to loans originated, obtaining and analyzing pertinent financial and credit data, following up with customers, preparing loan-related paperwork, and attending company meetings as necessary.
• Ensures loan originations comply with regulatory requirements and documentation is completed in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Communicates with customers throughout the loan process to ensure they understand the process.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 or more years recent residential mortgage lending experience, including experience in the local market.
• Proven ability to develop referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 or more years recent residential mortgage lending experience, including experience in the local market.
• Experience in the Fulton Mortgage Company Associate Mortgage Loan Officer Program may be accepted in lieu of 1 year required residential mortgage lending experience.
• 1 or more years proven ability to develop referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance.
