Mortgage Loan Officer

About the role

Solicits first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers. Works with customers to identify and secure a mortgage loan appropriate for their financial circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Develops and expands referral sources to solicit first mortgages.
• Maintains regular contact with Realtors and visits job sites to discuss lending options.
• Attends building and trade shows to network and forge new relationships.
• Collects and analyzes applicant’s financial information to assess loan qualifications.
• Interviews applicants and provides information about income, assets, investments, debt, credit history, and property characteristics.
• Evaluates customer needs and recommends financial products that best meet their specific needs.
• Conducts persuasive sales activity to encourage potential customers to do business with the company and cross-promotes other services and financial products.
• Follows up with customers and prospective customers via phone and email.
• Completes paperwork related to loan originations.
• Ensures loan originations comply with regulatory requirements.
• Communicates with customers throughout the loan process to ensure they understand the process.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 or more years residential mortgage lending experience.
• Experience developing referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 or more years residential mortgage lending experience.
• Referral Sources: 1 or more years experience developing referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization.
