Mortgage Loan Assistant
Summary
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the origination and closing of mortgage loans. It involves cross-selling First United Bank products and services, analyzing loan applications, submitting applications, and providing exceptional customer service.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Cross sells First United Bank products and services to borrowers and other customers.
- Works with assigned bank personnel to promote FUB in assigned markets.
- Takes thorough and complete loan applications; analyzes and pre-qualifies applicant information to determine viability of the client's desired loan program.
- Pulls credit, analyzes credit, and compares for accuracy with the mortgage borrower's statements and loan application.
- Affirms the correct loan options for the borrower based upon the applicant's present situation, future plans, and preferred loan product.
- Affords assistance in the submission of loan applications, preliminary income verification documents, preliminary asset verification documents, loan disclosures, any required credit explanation letters and executed application forms to processing.
- Maintains minimum expectations for First United’s best practices and production standards.
- Attends production meetings as necessary.
- Provides exceptional customer service, maintains high ethical standards, and ensures compliance with every borrower.
Additional Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
- Adheres to all First United Policies and Procedures.
- Dresses professionally.
Employee Specifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Prefers one year experience in mortgage lending environment.
- Possesses strong organizational skills.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Displays exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Can work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
