About the role

The Mortgage Consultant is responsible for originating a variety of different types of loans, focusing on servicing existing customers and first-time homebuyers. This role involves engaging with consumers, determining their needs, offering appropriate products, managing loan pipelines from application to closing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to company-provided leads via phone from internet, direct mail campaigns, referrals, or other special marketing campaigns.
  • Determine consumer needs and offer appropriate products.
  • Manage loan pipelines from application to closing, collaborating with underwriting, processing, and other teams to ensure timely and accurate loan approvals.
  • Obtain necessary information to close loans, including credit reports, income verification, appraisals, etc.
  • Achieve individual monthly sales goals.
  • Stay informed of industry trends.
  • Maintain compliance with the Newrez Code of Conduct.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of origination experience in the mortgage or banking industry.
  • Active NMLS license.
  • Solid understanding of appraisals, title reports, and product guidelines.
  • Maintain mortgage licenses through mandatory annual continuing education.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Connect with borrowers, maintain a friendly demeanor, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Proficient with loan origination systems (H2O), CRM platforms (Salesforce), and communication tools (Microsoft Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and return voicemails within 24 hours.
  • Efficiently manage tasks with attention to detail and strong decision-making skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate professionally.
  • Pass a background check for state licensing.

Benefits

Compensation for this position ranges from $15,080.00 to $60,000.00 annually, with additional benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a Health Savings Account with employer contribution, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, paid time off, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, and a company-paid Employee Emergency and Disaster Fund.
