About the role

The Mortgage Consultant originates a variety of different types of loans focusing on servicing existing customers and first-time homebuyers. Responsibilities include responding to company-provided leads, engaging with consumers, obtaining necessary information, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to company-provided leads via phone
  • Engage with consumers to determine their needs and offer appropriate products
  • Manage loan pipelines from application to closing
  • Obtain necessary information to close loans, including credit reports, income verification, and appraisals
  • Avoid non-compliance with federal and state lending regulations
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Meet individual monthly sales goals
  • Stay informed of industry trends
  • Maintain compliance with the Newrez Code of Conduct

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years’ origination experience in the mortgage or banking industry
  • Active NMLS license
  • Solid understanding of appraisals, title reports, and product guidelines
  • Maintain mortgage licenses through annual continuing education

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Connect with borrowers, maintain a friendly demeanor, and provide excellent customer service
  • Proficient in loan origination systems (H2O), CRM platforms (Salesforce), and communication tools (Microsoft Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and return voicemails within 24 hours
  • Detail-oriented and able to make careful decisions
  • Independent and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional communication skills

Pay and Schedule

A Good Faith Estimate of the compensation is $15,080.00 - $60,000.00. Compensation for this position may also include other elements, including medical, financial, various paid time off benefits, and a bonus based on individual and company performance, variable or annual.
