Mortgage Banker
About the role
The Mortgage Banker position at Shore United Bank is a full-time, commission-only role located at the St. Michaels Mortgage Loan Office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of residential mortgage lending experience, a demonstrated ability to generate self-sourced business, and an established network of referral business including Real Estate professionals and other centers of influence.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains successful relationships with business referral sources.
- Possesses strong prospecting, lead generation, and closing skills.
- Meets with customers at various stages of the loan process.
- Ensures exceptional customer experience by overseeing loan process from origination to close and providing ongoing communication.
- Achieves production goals as established.
- Participates in required training sessions, including BSA/AML policies and procedures.
- Works closely with loan fulfillment partners, including processors, underwriters, closers, and the Secondary Department.
- Collaborates with internal teams to ensure loan documents are submitted within Bank established guidelines and loan conditions are met.
- Communicates regularly with customers and business partners regarding loan status.
- Participates in community efforts to promote home ownership.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years residential mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating self-sourced business. Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business, and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals. Verifiable, established network of referral business including Real Estate professionals and other centers of influence.
Qualifications
Must possess a valid Real Estate License. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of loan origination systems (LOS) and compliance with regulations such as the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

Pay
This is a commission-only role. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Schedule
Full-time. Non-exempt. Days of Work: Monday-Friday.
