Monitor Technician| Spanish Plaines Telemetry | PRN | Variable

Responsibilities

• Admit and discharge patients from the cardiac monitoring system
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry for assigned patients
• Communicate cardiac rhythm changes to nursing staff promptly and accurately, as requested or when clinically indicated
• Print and interpret cardiac rhythm strips in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Ensure rhythm strips are forwarded to the Unit Secretary for appropriate filing
• Manage telemetry equipment and alarm settings in compliance with departmental policies
• Apply critical thinking skills to effectively monitor patients, recognize rhythm abnormalities, and communicate findings
• Enter billing information for telemetry services and other applicable patient charges accurately and timely
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and patient monitoring standards

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS
• Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
