Responsibilities
- Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
- Meets the communication needs of the department.
- Transcribes physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation systems.
- Verifies that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
- Prepares and compiles records in the ER.
- Orders supplies for the unit and prepares/completes each patient's chart with necessary daily forms.
- Assists nursing staff with indirect patient care duties without distraction from primary monitoring responsibilities.
- May provide direct patient care under RN supervision if possessing active CNA certification, demonstrating annual competency, and relieved of Monitor Technician duties during that time.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to communicate in English (speak and write).
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire.
- Previous acute care experience preferred.
Schedule
Part-time, less than 60 hours per pay period. Shift is variable.
