Monitor Tech -Telemetry

Responsibilities

• Maintains cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Serves as a point of contact for communication needs within the department.
• Transcribes physician orders when electronic health records (EHR) are not available.
• Verifies the ordering and completion of laboratory tests and radiology studies.
• Prepares and complies patient records in the emergency room.
• Orders necessary supplies for the unit and ensures their timely completion.
• Completes necessary forms for daily patient charts.
• Absorbs indirect patient care duties under RN supervision, provided certain conditions are met.

Qualifications

• Previous acute care experience is preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS (AHA) certification is mandatory.
• Must complete Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of employment.
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required for providing direct patient care.
• Demonstrates annual competency in CNA duties and skills.
