Monitor Technician - Telemetry

About the role

The Monitor Technician - Telemetry position at PeaceHealth is a part-time, 0.60 FTE night shift role. The salary range for this position is $22.62 – $35.33 per hour, with the hiring rate dependent on various factors.

Responsibilities

• Operate the appropriate monitoring device in accordance with physician orders.
• Expertly use all functions of central monitoring equipment.
• Observes monitors continually, detecting and documenting any changes in heart rhythm and arrhythmias according to department standards.
• Identifies and interprets EKGs and relays pertinent information to physicians or nurses according to department standards.
• Aids physicians in viewing rhythm histories.
• Orients staff to central monitoring capabilities and their roles.
• Performs clerical duties as assigned, including processing admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, or equivalent program preferred.
• Completion of an EKG class and monitoring equipment class within one month of hire.

Department / Location Specific Notes

RiverBend Hospital. Equipment familiarity will be substituted for the monitoring equipment class required in the education section. Working conditions include lifting no greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment and/or devices, and performing hands-on CPR.
