Monitor Tech - Telemetry

About the role

Monitor Technician position in the Cardiac Telemetry department at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, located at 2233 W. Division St., Chicago, IL. Free parking available.

Schedule

Full Time, Days. 3–12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), including rotating holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Meets the communication needs of the department.
• Transcribes physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system.
• Verifies that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepares and compiles records in the ER.
• Orders supplies for the unit and prepares/completes each patient's chart for necessary forms on a daily basis.
• Assists nursing staff with indirect patient care duties, without distraction from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
• May provide direct patient care under RN supervision if possessing active CNA certification, demonstrating annual competency, and relieved of Monitor Technician duties during that time.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (or related experience required for all new hires, effective April 2014).
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire (must maintain current).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire (must maintain current).
• Six months previous experience in Healthcare or as a Monitor Technician.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $17.54 to $25.40 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
