Mold Maintenance Technician - Hammond - Days

About the role
We are seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician for our Hammond Mold Shop. This role involves the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of plastic injection tooling with a high level of accuracy. Additional tasks include troubleshooting tooling problems, minor repairs, configuration changes, and replacement of tooling components.
Responsibilities
- Keep production molds in a ready-to-run state.
- Troubleshoot and predict mechanical and performance issues in molds.
- Inspect and analyze critical components, both old and new, for defects.
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Perform essential job requirements, including the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- High level of motivation and self-management.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on technical experience with a proven work history.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to work a 12-hour day or night shift (3 on/2 off/2 on/3 off).
- Ability to be on call when required.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of community college/trade school.
- Previous manufacturing, injection molding, or plastics experience.
- Prior diagnostic and troubleshooting experience in areas such as industrial AC, elevators, escalators, diesel mechanics, HVAC, and/or automated manufacturing equipment.
- Machining experience.
Schedule
12-hour rotating shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (3 on/2 off/2 on/3 off).
