Modesto Junior College Part-time Librarian

About the role

The Library & Learning Center at Modesto Junior College seeks part-time reference librarians to provide service and instruction both in-person and online.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research assistance to students and faculty.
• Develop and deliver library instruction sessions.
• Assist with cataloging and collection development.
• Manage online library resources and databases.
• Participate in departmental meetings and committees.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience in a library setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of library systems and tools.
• Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Skills

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $54.27 to $86.76.

Schedule

Shifts available range from 4 to 20 hours per week, during the day, evening, and weekends.
