Modeling & Simulation Eng, Amazon Leo
About the role
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
This is a modeling and simulation engineering position where you will develop, validate, and maintain physics-based and empirical models of the Leo satellite power system. You will build simulation frameworks that predict battery state of charge, solar array power generation, thermal-electrical coupling, and power system degradation over the satellite lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain physics-based and empirical models of the Leo satellite power system
- Build simulation frameworks to predict power system behavior
- Correlate model predictions against on-orbit telemetry and iterate to improve fidelity
- Develop degradation models using lab test data, manufacturer characterization, and flight data
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, 3+ years of experience developing physics-based or data-driven models, and 3+ years of proficiency in Python or Matlab.
