Space Simulation Technician , Amazon Leo
Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The Kuiper system is designed with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
About the role
We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites. The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Responsibilities
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
- Participate in process improvements and maintain floor stock inventory
- Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
- Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
- Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
- Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Manage multiple priorities and work in different areas throughout the shift
- Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures
Requirements
- Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
- Willing to work 4 / 10s as assigned (shift will be communicated during the interview based on current need)
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Flexible working/commuting between site locations: Redmond, WA and Kirkland, WA
- Able to stand for long periods of time, climb up and down ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience running thermal and vacuum testing equipment
Pay
The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour, with incremental raises based on tenure. Base pay information is based on market location. Additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay.
