Model Based System Engineer
About the role
Kratos is seeking a highly motivated candidate with expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to contribute and lead technical efforts. This role requires strong collaboration with system developers, test, and support personnel.
Responsibilities
- Using MBSE to realize/describe/analyze complex systems in SysML using Cameo, Enterprise Architect or equivalent methodologies
- Support and contribute to Kubernetes environments on prem and cloud-based
- Analyze customer/stakeholder requirements, decompose requirements, derive requirements, and allocate requirements to system and subsystem elements
- Develop the MBSE modeling environment with emphasis on system decomposition, functions, interfaces, and performance to describe and analyze complex systems and software
- Develop training material for MBSE stakeholders
- Develop operational models using frameworks such as DoDAF, MoDAF, UPDM, UAF
- Perform peer reviews of fellow team members' work
- Work in adherence to structured and defined development processes
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in SE, CS, EE, ME, or other engineering equivalent
- Experience in ground systems (Parabolic, Radar, Optical), system engineering, and software knowledge is a plus
- Familiarity with modern IT infrastructure capabilities to include virtualization, cloud deployment, and containerization (CNFs)
- 5+ years developing models using No Magic's Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar) conforming to SysML
- Experience with military space operations
- Sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to accomplish results
- Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
Skills
- Experience in space systems, including satellite ground systems
- Experience working within the Defense and/or Aerospace industry
- Experience developing system level models, requirements, and architecture in conjunction with discipline engineering teams
- Sharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include requirements development, validation and verification for conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design
Pay
The grade-based pay range for this job is $125,000 - $155,000. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Competitive salary based on experience and education.
