About the role
Join the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships across the US, representing truck and bus manufacturers such as Peterbilt, International, Hino, Isuzu, Ford, IC Bus, and Blue Bird. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will maintain client fleets and handle service calls at client locations while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
- Handle basic maintenance of trucks, including fueling, checking oil, cleaning, and ensuring required inspections are performed and documented.
- Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep the vehicle properly stocked.
- Report to the Service Manager and perform assigned duties on a daily basis.
- Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
- Inventory and maintain tools required for diesel engine truck maintenance.
- Read job orders, observe and listen to vehicles in operation to diagnose malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and apply technical information to perform correct repairs.
- Perform diagnosis, removal, and replacement of components such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, clutches, differentials, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts.
- Perform all necessary diagnostics and documentation using the company computer system.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, making adjustments as needed.
- Lubricate moving parts and test-drive repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
- Document and submit paperwork or enter work details into the mobile service program accurately and timely.
- Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
- Advise customers or service writers of recommended repairs or services for the next 3 months.
- Participate in training and apply learned skills in your work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 9 years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
- Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability.

Pay
Minimum pay rate: USD $30.00 per hour. Maximum pay rate: USD $50.00 per hour.
