Mobile Equipment Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy equipment in a plant setting. You will implement and oversee extensive Preventative Maintenance programs for various heavy machinery such as loaders, haul trucks, dozers, excavators, and more.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
• Maintain repair schedules, coordinate with staff, and manage parts inventory.
• Develop work schedules, monitor equipment, and manage outsourced repairs when necessary.
• Perform safety inspections, report malfunctions, and ensure a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding downtime, repairs, and safety concerns.
• Adhere to safety policies, use PPE, and perform physical activities in all weather conditions.
• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and safety checks.
• Manage maintenance schedules and communicate with teams.
• Support safety initiatives and perform physical tasks as required.
• Flexibility for shift work, overtime, and callouts is necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Skills in hydraulics, diagnostics, electrical systems, and schematic reading are essential.
• Additional skills include fabrication, welding, inventory management, and computer proficiency.
• Must provide own tools and be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Experience in construction or quarry environments is preferred.
