Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Maintenance Duties

• Cuts Lawn
• Trims and edges around walks, flowerbeds and walls
• Prunes shrubs, and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches or twigs
• Rakes and bags leaves
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways
• Sprays salt and ice melt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup
• Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs
• Waters lawn and shrubs
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts

Equipment Maintenance

• Maintains and repairs all O&M Maintenance equipment, Grounds vehicles and support equipment
• Service and maintain all equipment/vehicles by checking and making replacements and adjustments of various components
• Checks and maintains proper fluid levels, lubrications and assures equipment/vehicles are maintained to manufacturer's specifications
• Inspects all systems of the equipment/ vehicles such as transmissions, charging systems, tire pressure and wear, wiper blades, battery electrolyte levels
• Changes oil and filters and lubricates and greases per manufacturer's recommendations
• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment/ vehicles as required
• Maintains and inventory of parts and supplies and cleans and maintains work area

Other Tasks

• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears
• Makes repairs on equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, blowers, weed eaters, tractors, spreaders, snow removal equipment and other vehicles within employee's training / skills
