About the Role

The Mobile Device Management Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Northwest Christian School in Phoenix, AZ. This role is responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining mobile devices such as tablets, laptops, and smartphones used by students, faculty, and staff.

Daily tasks include managing device inventory, applying security and usage policies through the MDM platform, performing software updates, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and coordinating repairs or replacements. The technician collaborates with the IT team to ensure network compatibility, data security, and compliance with school technology standards. Additional responsibilities include documenting procedures, assisting with technology rollouts, and providing user training and support for mobile device usage in classroom and administrative settings.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain mobile devices (tablets, laptops, smartphones).
  • Manage device inventory and apply security/usage policies via MDM platforms.
  • Perform software updates and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
  • Coordinate repairs or replacements for devices.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure network compatibility and data security.
  • Document procedures and assist with technology rollouts.
  • Provide user training and support for mobile device usage in classrooms and administrative settings.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot device, software, and connectivity issues and interpret system logs.
  • Effective communication skills for technical support, collaboration, and documentation.
  • Solid organization skills to manage inventories, track assets, and schedule updates.
  • Ability to train and support users (students, teachers, staff) on device usage and troubleshooting.
  • Research skills to evaluate new mobile technologies, security standards, and MDM best practices.
  • Experience with mobile device management platforms (e.g., Apple School Manager, Google Admin Console).
  • Knowledge of education-related operating systems (iOS, iPadOS, ChromeOS, Windows, Android) and applications.
  • Understanding of basic networking, security practices, and data privacy in a school environment.
  • Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment across campus locations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or IT coursework preferred.
