About the role
This position will work as part of the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team and will perform crisis assessment services and crisis follow up services to adults and children in mental health crisis in a five county area.
Responsibilities
- Perform crisis assessment services to assist persons in mental health crisis to access needed treatment and referrals, including in-patient hospitalization as needed
- Conduct mostly mobile crisis assessments at consumer residences, hospitals, jails and other community sites
- Communicate effectively with law enforcement, local hospitals, judiciary and other social service agencies to resolve the crisis needs of the callers
- Work under pressure with stressful situations while maintaining a professional manner
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Psychology or a Human Services Field from an accredited college or university
- Eligibility to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional
- Previous mental health work experience with adult and child mental health consumers (preferred)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Texas Drivers License and be an insurable driver
Pay
Salary Range: $19.13 To $20.35 Hourly, with eligibility for a one- and two-year increase, depending on satisfactory performance
Schedule
Saturday - Sunday, 8am - 8pm, Wednesday 8p-8a plus a 4 hour variable shift. This position's shift may fall on a holiday, which will be considered a regularly scheduled work day.
