Mobile Crisis Case Manager

About the role

Become an MCR Case Manager today! High Plains Mental Health Center is expanding our crisis services and we want YOU to join our Mobile Crisis Response team.

Responsibilities

• Respond directly to mental health crisis calls in the community, meeting individuals where they live, work, and play to provide timely, compassionate, on-site support.
• Serve as a calm, steady presence during high-stress situations.
• Use trauma-informed de-escalation techniques to help individuals regain a sense of safety, control, and stability.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary crisis response team, law enforcement, emergency services, and community partners to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
• Provide short-term, impactful support designed to stabilize individuals in crisis and reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency room visits.
• Develop safety plans, identify coping strategies, and connect individuals & families to community resources and ongoing supports once the immediate crisis has passed.
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of services.
• Participate in required training for crisis response, trauma-informed care, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience counts! We accept equivalent work experience in human services (teaching, daycare, CNA, etc.) or a BA/BS degree. One year of related work = one year of college.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass drug screen.
• Must pass all required background checks (KBI, KDADS, etc.).
• Must maintain a valid driver's license; MVR will be checked.
• No substance-related driving offenses in the past 5 years.
• Physically & mentally capable of working in high-pressure situations and responding to emergencies.
