Reporting directly to the MITS National Director of Engineering, the MITS Regional Technical Resource Manager oversees technical resources within a defined U.S. region and provides guidance or direct support for small to mid-sized clients with managed network service needs. This role involves daily interaction with MITS technical and sales teams, branch personnel, and clients, offering IT guidance as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, direction, and oversight of subordinates reporting to them.
  • Attend branch project meetings and serve as a conduit between Engineering, Sales, and branch management.
  • Work with the National Director of Engineering to interview, hire, and onboard new Engineers within the region.
  • Serve as Team Lead and Project Manager during Ransomware Incident Response within the region.
  • Manage all projects assigned by the National Director of Engineering.
  • Monitor Engineer time entries to ensure high billable utilization.
  • Act as an escalation point for issues requiring coordination with other branches and national resources.
  • Mentor branch Engineers through regular meetings, setting goals and expectations.
  • Provide updates and feedback to the National Director of Engineering on branches, projects, Engineers, and utilization.
  • Escalate technical, policy, or branch-related issues for Engineers in the region.
  • Draft complex project Statements of Work (SoWs) as needed.
  • Act as an Engineer in branches lacking dedicated technical staff.
  • Coordinate larger and complex client projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to deliver complete solutions, troubleshoot problems, or coordinate migrations.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on management experience with a team of 5 or more highly qualified technical resources.
  • Information Technology management experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage technical resources dispersed across multiple states.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable communicating with all organizational levels under relaxed and stressful situations.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on technical experience managing/supporting multi-server and complex network infrastructure environments.
  • Hands-on virtualization (Hyper-V and/or VMWare) and Azure experience a plus.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure—firewalls, switches, and access points.
  • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certification required; industry firewall certification (Sonicwall, Meraki, Watchguard) required or willingness to acquire as part of employment.
  • Cyber Security experience and certifications a plus or willingness to acquire certification as part of employment.
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure and Office 365 technologies preferred.
  • Managed Service Provider and/or Managed Security Service Provider experience a plus.
  • Backup Disaster and Recovery (BDR) experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail-oriented with ability to track and communicate on multiple ongoing projects.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team managing resources on larger projects.
  • 30% local-day travel, 20% remote work, 50% overnight travel.
  • Minimum of one onsite visit to each branch in the region per fiscal half.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.

Pay

$107,000 - $165,000 USD. The listed salary range excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and other forms of compensation or benefits. Starting salary will be determined by experience, education, training, certification, and location. Eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards may apply.
