Minotaur Systems and Information Technology Specialist (MSITS)

About the Role

The Mission System Administrator, also known as Mission Systems/Information Technology Specialist (MS/ITS), is a technical professional responsible for analyzing complex system architectures and functional requirements within the Minotaur Mission Systems (MMS) and other mission system environments. This role applies software engineering methodologies and information technology best practices to plan, develop, enhance, maintain, and validate core software systems and sensor software baselines.

The MS/ITS collaborates with the Chief Integration Officer (CIO), Team Leads, and cross-functional team members to execute development initiatives and implement MMS development and deployment strategies. Operating under the mentorship of mid-level and senior software developers and engineers, the MS/ITS provides critical technical support to senior leadership in mission execution activities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software and hardware architectures, designs, and functional requirements for aircraft, marine, and surface mission systems.
• Develop system requirements.
• Test and configure mission system electrical designs and software applications using tools such as Microsoft Visio, .dwg applications, JAVA, JavaScript, Python, SQL, OWL, CSS, C++, C#, Bootstrap, XML, HTML, and WMS/ITSL.
• Develop scripts for mission system applications.
• Update software applications, apply software patches, and cyber-related artifacts.
• Support installation, configuration, and testing of mission systems and software on various mission system hardware configurations in a lab environment or on asset.
• Install, run, and apply various software applications for the mission system.
• Develop and conduct unit, auto-test, system functional tests, integration tests, and lab/asset testing.
• Develop technical documentation and reports (MS Word, PPT, Excel) related to MMS.
• Work with team members to ensure system usability, reliability, maintainability, and resolve customer trouble reports.
• Build system, data, map, and satellite drives from databases.
• Conduct system administration functions such as password setup, scans, creating login access, troubleshooting networks, and managing accounts.
• Execute frequent travel, work day, evening, and midnight shifts, and respond to urgent tasking at the last minute to meet Government system troubleshooting requirements.
• Obtain and maintain at least a Secret clearance.
• Accept guidance from senior developers, engineers, and mentors.
• Conduct reviews and accept feedback from team members, leadership, and Government users.
• Build visions, business relationships, and goals for future endeavors.

Requirements

• Minimum requirement of an Associate’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Information Technology, or other suitable equivalent in education.
• Alternatively, applicable skills with at least 8 years’ experience in a technical field related to aviation, surface, or ground-based systems.
• Proven performance in work, development, or internship with strong communication and teaming skills.
