Job Summary

About the role

This position involves driving trucks and operating heavy equipment to transport and unload materials. Responsibilities also include receiving loading instructions, communicating with plant personnel and the public, maintaining a material handling conveyor system, and performing general plant support tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receives loading instructions and communicates with plant personnel and the public.
• Operates heavy equipment and uses mobile equipment, hand and power tools, and cutting and welding equipment.
• Maintains a material handling conveyor system by controlling product quality and inspecting the system for damage.
• Cleans spilled material from the conveyor system and surrounding areas.
• Performs pre-trip/post-trip vehicle safety inspections; documents and reports vehicle condition.
• Adds fluids to vehicle as necessary and cleans outside of vehicle to prevent material build-up.
• May assist mechanics in vehicle repair and change tires as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• One (1) year experience in plant production and/or operations.
• Sufficient education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles.
• Excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations.
• Ability to comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures and requirements.
• Ability to work required overtime and flexible work schedule.
• Ability to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.

Qualifications

• Must have the physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as, bend and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Exposure to varying and/or extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, wet, cold, etc).
