Job Summary

About the role

This position involves operating and maintaining equipment at a rock processing plant, transporting materials, and supporting general plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Starts, stops, and monitors equipment using computerized or manual controls.
• Performs pre-shift inspections and maintains cleanliness of the plant.
• Drives truck and/or operates heavy equipment to transport and unload materials.
• Communicates with plant personnel and the public regarding loading instructions.
• Maintains stationary production machinery by diagnosing problems and performing mechanical and minor electrical repairs.
• Uses mobile equipment, hand and power tools, and cutting and welding equipment.
• Maintains a material handling conveyor system by controlling product quality and inspecting the system for damage.
• Cleans spilled material from the conveyor system and surrounding areas.
• May travel to other facilities as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One (1) year experience in plant production and/or operations.
• Sufficient education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles.
• Excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, lift up to 45 pounds, and comply with all safety, health, environmental, and company policies.
