Millwright (Alternating Dupont Schedule)

About the role

KIK Consumer Products is a North American leader in consumer product manufacturing. This position is available within our plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle, troubleshoot, diagnose, and overhaul pumps, screw conveyors, compactors, and rotor feeders.
  • Install mechanical seals.
  • Perform equipment alignment using dial indicators and laser alignment.
  • Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems and determine replacement needs.
  • Order new materials required and plan working procedures to complete replacements.
  • Acknowledge correct sizes on pumps, suction or discharge.
  • Distinguish between centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
  • Understand the rotation of rotor feeders.
  • Set timing on shaking conveyors.
  • Inform supervisor of potentially dangerous mechanical equipment or recurring equipment malfunctions, and take corrective action.
  • Install and/or change machines and mechanical equipment in a facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or three-year training program.
  • Pass physical and drug tests.
  • 1-2 years of proven experience as a Journeyman Millwright.
  • Ability to perform shift work, including overtime, hold-overs, and call-outs.
  • Wear respiratory protective equipment and protective eyewear.
  • Successfully complete required training programs, including offsite training.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Flexible to work shift work (days, afternoons, nights).
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
  • Complete required equipment certifications, including forklifts, cranes, carry decks, etc.

Qualifications
