About the role
The Production Engineer I/Millwork CNC Engineer at Digifabshop and CWKA is a core member of the production team responsible for translating our digital models into the precise instructions our machines follow.
What You'll Achieve in Your First 6 Months
- Become fully proficient in our CAM workflow, independently developing complete 3/5-axis CNC programs and required fixtures for a project component.
- Build a strong working relationship with CNC operators and senior engineers, becoming a key collaborator for troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Aid in documenting at least one best practice or CAM standard to help codify team knowledge.
- Actively learn and develop by integrating with the production team and using feedback to improve your programs.
- Create 3-axis and 5-axis CNC programs using CAM software.
- Design and model fixtures and jigs required for CNC operations.
- Create part-nests and cut-lists to optimize material yield.
- Provide support to CNC operators on the shop floor.
- Maintain meticulous data hygiene and fiscal responsibility by adhering to assigned labor budgets and tracking time accurately.
- Collaborate with the shop floor team and senior engineers to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Contribute to team success by assisting in the documentation of best practices and CAM standards.
- Develop your skills across all four areas of the Engineer Progression Framework (Technical Proficiency, Project Leadership, Team Contribution, and Business Impact) in preparation for advancement.
Core Qualifications
- Foundational experience in CNC programming or machining, typically gained over 1-3 years.
- Proficiency in CAM software.
- A solid understanding of machining principles and tooling.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or certification in manufacturing technology or a related field.
- Hands-on experience as a CNC operator.
