Millwork CNC Operator

New England Caseworks specializes in commercial casework and millwork solutions, built by experienced craftspersons to meet the needs of the Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, and Laboratory markets.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Millwork Machine Operator for our commercial cabinet shop located in Woburn, MA. Our ideal candidate has experience in an automated shop and must be familiar with the machinery involved to manufacture casework such as: panel saw, edge bander, point to point, drilling and dowel machinery, case clamp, and various hand tools. Candidates must have experience building commercial cabinetry in an automated wood and plastic laminate shop.

This is a full-time, hourly position with standard hours 6am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday, reporting to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

• General production work, specifically cabinet assembly
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining material, product, and tools necessary for assembly
• Learning process, machine set-up, and problem-solving techniques
• Setting up work area for sanding and routing wood
• Reviewing drawings to ensure product, accessories, and components are ready for assembly
• Coordinating with the finishing department to ensure smooth process and task completion
• Maintaining consistent fast-paced workflow to meet project deadlines
• Checking own work to achieve no defects
• Performing duties outside of normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Carpentry preferred)
• 5+ years of experience working with automated machinery and commercial cabinetry
• Experience with 32 mm dowel construction and quality control is necessary
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs with proper lifting techniques
• Employment is contingent on a clean background and drug screen

Work Environment

• Subject to noise from automated machinery
• Requires cutting, lifting, and transporting wood and other materials from floor to waist height on a regular basis
• Standing position with frequent movement around the shop floor
• No travel required
