Mill Technician - 1st Shift 6am to 2:30pm - $23.19/hr - The Morrison Milling Company

About the role

This is a key entry level position within our manufacturing facility which produces quality food products for our customers. Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6PM-6AM.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment as necessary to accomplish tasks and meet targets.
• Continuously supervise the mill operations throughout a shift.
• Plan, direct and execute daily shift milling duties for the shift crew to perform to meet business needs.
• Check break roll extractions daily.
• Analyze results and make necessary adjustments.
• Observe operation of rolls and continuously assure stocks are properly distributed and that roll gaps and brushes are set to maximize grinding efficiency and yields.
• Proactively identify problems and resolve them or take steps to alert their supervisor.
• Follows company processes and procedures in the operation of the equipment.
• Cleans the equipment and general work areas including assigned floor.
• Must work safely while operating the machinery and working in the production areas.
• Must follow Quality processes and procedures.
• Must fill out required documents timely, accurately and honestly.
• Covers for other departments as needed.
• Willing to work overtime and flexible hours.
• Input and track production, safety, and quality data in Production Reporting System (Redzone).
• Ensures detailed cleaning and sanitation of plant equipment.
• Ensures daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations.
• Reports and takes necessary actions to prevent food safety and food quality issues from occurring.
• Evaluates hazards, verifies measures and procedures to achieve a safe work environment.
• Works in a safe manner and promptly reports hazards identified in the work environment.
