Mill/Mixer Operator

About the role

We are seeking a Mill/Mixer Operator to manufacture high-quality printing ink. The right candidate will be trained to operate a mill machine and on TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.

Responsibilities

• Run batches of ink at proper mill settings.
• Package finished product in various containers and apply labels.
• Clean and maintain machines to TPM Standards.
• Learn and apply TPM knowledge to daily activities.
• Weigh-up batches following proper process order of addition, shifting between auto and manual steps.
• Mix batches by discharging pigment and operating mixer safely; adhere to all INX Mixer SOPs.
• Operate and maintain Hockmeyer mill to optimum OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) standards.
• Create and maintain a database of all existing formulas including processing times.
• Operate press out unit, pump filter equipment, and forklift.
• Act as a QC liaison: provide ink samples, make ink adjustments, and record data.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and utilize troubleshooting procedures.
• Assist with repacks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 months of related work experience.
• Good math and basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliability to work assigned shift and flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Strong Autonomous Maintenance (AM) background.
• Ability to perform an active role with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Good attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience (training available).
• Mixing, mill, and pump filter industry background.
• Previous experience in the ink industry.
