Milk Lab Technician
About the Role
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services. The Milk Lab Technician is responsible for providing nutritional services through preparation and distribution of human milk, formula feedings, and maintaining Milk Lab records. This role includes performing inventory control, conducting compliance audits, and assisting with the orientation of new Milk Lab staff in collaboration with the Lactation Specialist (IBCLC) or other disciplines as needed. The Technician will maintain productivity standards and participate in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts to ensure safe and effective milk preparation and distribution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute human milk and formula feedings.
- Maintain Milk Lab records and perform inventory control.
- Conduct compliance audits.
- Assist with orientation of new Milk Lab staff in collaboration with the Lactation Specialist (IBCLC) or other disciplines.
- Maintain productivity standards and participate in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts.
- Perform additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in healthcare; experience in either patient care or as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Milk Lab Technician competency required.
- Active Milk Lab Technician certification preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.

Schedule
Regular part-time, first shift.
