About the role

The Senior Military Planner at HDR will lead and plan medium to large size DoD planning and asset management projects globally. This role requires extensive experience in compliance document preparation, stakeholder coordination, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and plans DoD planning and asset management projects
  • Prepares and analyzes compliance documents
  • Manages and facilitates multidisciplinary teams
  • Conducts facility and infrastructure requirement analyses and capacity assessments
  • Develops project execution plans and collaborates with stakeholders
  • Develops installation, area, and component plans
  • Develops a capital investment strategy in line with DOD and service-specific criteria
  • Prepares DD Form 1391 and conducts economic analyses

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Advanced degree may offset years of experience
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage in a team environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter and business development skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • AICP, RLA, PE, RA certification
  • LEED AP or higher
  • Knowledge of military installation and base operations
  • Experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
  • Experience with military range and training complexes
  • Experience with form-based codes
  • Experience with basic utilities infrastructure systems
  • Experience with basic transportation circulation systems

Pay

Compensation range varies by location:

  • Colorado: $103,740.00 - $148,200.00
  • California: $114,114.00 - $163,020.00
  • District of Columbia: $124,488.00 - $177,840.00

Schedule

This position may require travel overseas.

Skills

Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential. Knowledge of military installations, community planning, and federal facilities acquisition strategies is preferred.
