MILIEU SUPERVISOR
About the role
The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking a Bachelor's level Milieu Supervisor to work within their new Residential Enhanced Level of Care Program. The program serves 8 male adolescents aged 12 to 18 years old. The position requires a flexible schedule, including at least 2 weekends per month, and strong supervisory skills in residential programming.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient functioning of the unit including supervision of staff, daily scheduling, structured activities, and adherence to all policies and procedures.
- Participate in weekend supervisory rotation schedule and be willing to work overtime as required.
- Be visible on the unit to provide additional support to both staff and clients.
- Work cohesively and collaboratively with other unit staff to develop positive working relationships.
- Effectively lead a team following CHOR's Youth & Family Services core values and commitments.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record (highly preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or any Human Services field (highly preferred).
- Associate's degree with at least 1 year experience working with youth (may be considered).
- Past all pre-employment physical & drug screening including background clearances (Child, Criminal, FBI, and DMV).
- Ability to demonstrate basic oral, written, and verbal communication.
- Attend all required trainings followed by shadowing prior to working on the unit.
- Work effectively among various levels of behaviors and maintain an atmosphere of safety, support, and guidance to ensure a positive environment.
- Physical ability to restrain a resident, if needed, while utilizing the tenets of Safe Crisis Management training.
