MIG Welder - 3rd Shift (OH)

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 pm – 6:00 am, and currently required to work up to 2 Saturdays per month. Pay: $23.44/hr effective 09/01 with a $0.50 shift differential.

About the role

Performs a variety of welding, brazing, and cutting techniques using gas and electric welding equipment while observing safety regulations and engaging in UNARCO’s Total Quality Management philosophy. Maintains a clean work area, free of wood, banding material, and other debris and dunnage. Performs other duties as directed by leadership.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions for job from area supervisor or leadman.
• Fabricates parts by welding various components as required using appropriate welding techniques and equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded, sets up, assembles, and welds parts.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Lifts up to 50 pounds at a reasonable rate in a normal day.
• Meets or exceeds production standards.
• Works without close supervision.
• Works scheduled shift as well as overtime and weekends, as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to pass company entry-level welding and tape tests.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written orders.
• Must be able to weld a visually acceptable bead.
• Must be able to count and sort products.
• Must be able to read all blueprints.
• Must be able to complete inventory tickets.
• Must be able to set up welding machines.
• Must have manual dexterity skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1+ years’ experience in welding.
