About the role

A Welder at Lennox AES in Tallassee, AL is a skilled position responsible for precision welding of galvanized steel, aluminum, and other materials to produce roof curbs, drop boxes, and related components. This is a 3rd-shift role with the following hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 PM–5:30 AM.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining production methods.
  • MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Spot weld metal components under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of previous MIG welding experience.
  • Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel (training available).
  • Physically able to load fabrication parts onto the weld table and move objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Basic blueprint reading and interpretation skills; ability to read tape measures and diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding machines, including preventive maintenance and control settings.
  • Familiarity with safe welding practices and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-starter requiring minimal daily guidance; quality-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Trade school or certification in welding.

Pay

This hourly non-exempt role starts at $19.50/hour with a $2.00 shift differential. Overtime is paid for hours worked beyond 40 in a week (or as required by state law).
