About the Role

Vassar Brothers Medical Center of Nuvance Health, proudly joining Northwell Health, is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife or Certified Midwife to join our team as the regional midwife director. We are building a team of 7 midwives providing full-scope midwifery care in the office and in the hospital alongside 2 full-time outpatient only midwives. This role is a blend of 0.8 clinical and 0.2 administrative FTE.

The Regional Midwife Director provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the midwifery practice serving Vassar Brothers Medical Center as well as ambulatory clinical sites in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, and Highland. This role is responsible for the oversight, mentorship, and performance management of site-based midwives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered maternity and gynecologic care across the region. Working collaboratively with site physician and nursing leaders, hospital administration, and the system women’s health leadership team, the Regional Midwife Director supports alignment of clinical standards, staffing models, quality initiatives, and professional practice across sites while maintaining an active clinical presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the midwifery practice.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) required.

Pay

Salary range: $130,000 - $200,000 per year.
