About the role
Lad Lake Synergy School is a contracted school through Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) established in 1994. We provide academic programming tailored to historically underserved youth, helping them earn a high school diploma while addressing emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges.
Responsibilities
- Create a fun, engaging learning environment that supports all students' learning and well-being.
- Design and deliver lesson plans tailored to individual student needs, including those with personalized education plans, special needs, or who need extra support.
- Communicate openly with students, families, and fellow staff members, demonstrating positive role modeling and teaching life skills.
- Follow the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) curriculum, ensuring it is inclusive and culturally sensitive.
- Protect youth by adhering to privacy practices and maintaining a safe environment.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- At least 21 years old.
- A valid Wisconsin teaching certificate.
- Experience working with students who are historically disadvantaged, or have emotional or behavioral challenges (EBD), with 2-3 years of successful classroom management.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
- Patient and positive approach, understanding and trauma-focused care, especially during challenging times.
- Ability to engage physically and lift up to 30 lbs, and sometimes perform physical interventions to ensure safety.

Pay
The base pay is based on experience, education, licensure, and Lad Lake years of service. Compensation details: $46,795 - $64,940 yearly salary.
