Job Summary
The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation seeks a dedicated Middle School Teacher to inspire and support students in grades 6–8.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in assigned subject area(s).
- Develop lesson plans that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students.
- Integrate a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance learning.
- Absorb and provide timely, constructive feedback on student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance.
Student Development
- Foster independence, responsibility, and strong organizational and study skills.
- Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- Promote a positive classroom culture built on respect, accountability, and inclusion.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and developmentally responsive classroom environment.
- Implement consistent and fair discipline practices aligned with school policies.
- Address behavioral concerns proactively and constructively.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, team planning, and professional development opportunities.
Community & School Engagement
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and student life initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and philosophy of the school.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or the relevant subject area required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification appropriate for middle school (or ability to obtain).
- Middle school teaching experience preferred.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to effectively engage and motivate adolescent learners.
- Proficiency in using educational technology to support instruction.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the school.
