Primary Function
The Middle School teacher assistant is responsible for helping students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, responsible adults under the direction of the classroom teacher/team. This team member will work with all middle school teachers and students.
Key Relationships
The teacher assistant reports to the principal and is supervised by the principal. Other key relationships include the assistant principal, grade level team, and his/her assigned teacher.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Degree - required
- Bachelor's Degree - preferred
- Ability to teach appropriate grade-level curriculum
- Ability to establish collaborative relationships with the assigned teacher or grade-level teaching staff

- Ability to work tactfully and effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents
- Evidence of an educational philosophy in agreement with that of Holy Family Catholic Academy
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents

Physical Demands and Environment
- Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Use of technical equipment such as laptop computers, overhead projectors, and whiteboards
- Walk up and down stairs, as well as in the outdoor classroom
- Some heavy lifting up to 30 pounds may be required
Pay
This position has an hourly range of $15.50 - $17.00. An employee's pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
